Osun State Traditional Rulers Council has suspended the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, for six months over alleged public misconduct.

Oluwo was banned from attending the Council’s meeting for the next six months, while the council set up a committee headed by the Orangun of lla, Oba Wahab Adedotun to investigate the allegations against him

Addressing journalists after an emergency meeting by the council at the state secretariat in Osogbo, Oba Adedotun said the decision was taken due to allegations of misconduct by Oluwo against prominent traditional rulers in the state.

He cleared  that the suspension was not because of the recent allegation of rift between Oluwo and the Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa which has generated over-heated reactions from different quatres.

It would be recalled that the state government had on Monday, this week expressed confidence in the traditional council to handle its royal affairs and conflicts.

Meanwhile, various groups and some individuals have been calling on the concerned authorities to dethrone the Oluwo of Iwoland for alleged assualt and emmbrassement  on the fellow monarch.
