OSUN APC PRIMARY ELECTION : OYETOLA EMERGES WINNER, POLLED HUGE FIGURE OF VOTES TO DEFEAT OTHERS
Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state has been declared winner of the Saturday APC governorship primary election and is now the party’s flagbearer for the July 16th governorship election.
Kwara state governor, Razak Abdulrahaman who is the Chairman of the Committee in charge of the primary election declared Oyetola the winner having polled the highest votes of 222,169.out of the total votes cast of 235,550.
One of the other two aspirants in the election, Moshood Adeoti polled 12,921 votes, while the third, Yusuf Lasun polled 460 votes
The collation of votes was done in the presence of party agents, independent observers, INEC and other designated officials where returning officers came out one after another to present results from their various local government areas to the election committee chairman.
Total registered votes of members in all local government across the state was
408,697, accredited voters were 247,207 while 235,550 eventually cast their votes.
Declaring the results, governor Rasak Abdulrahaman adjudged the election as free and fair and admonished members to work for deeper unity and progress of the party.
