Troops of OPLD eliminate top BH commanders, destroy camps at fringes of Lake Chad.

The Defence Headquarters has confirmed the execution of several top Boko haram and ISWAP terrorists’ commanders including Abu Usman, Alhaji Shettima, Modu Mainok, Bukar Gana, Abu Summayya, amongst others in a successful clearance operations conducted at different locations along the Lake Chad Basin in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State by the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole.

A statement made available to Newsmen by the Defence Media Operation’s Coordinator, Maj. Gen. John Enenche said the operation also destroyed several identified terrorists’ camps and hideouts located at Tunbun Gini, Tunbun Nbororo, Tunbun Kayoma, Tunbun Kaza, Tunbun Fulani at the fringes of Lake Chad Basin.

The statement read:

“In continuation of the aggressive clearance operation against terrorism and other sundry crimes in the North East, troops of Army Super Camp Malumfatori at the Lake Chad Basin conducted massive clearance operations.

“The successful operation led to the destruction of several identified terrorists’ camps and hideouts located at Tunbun Gini, Tunbun Nbororo, Tunbun Kayoma, Tunbun Kaza, Tunbun Fulani at the fringes of Lake Chad in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

“Several top BHT/ISWAP terrorists’ commanders were killed during the successful operation including Abu Usman, Alhaji Shettima, Modu Mainok, Bukar Gana, Abu Summayya, Amir Taam and Amir Kuraish among others.” the statement stated.

The statement however assured the people of the North east of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment together with other security agencies to ending the insurgency and other security challenges in the country.

Gen. Enenche had therefore enjoined the general public to continually avail the troops with timely and credible information that will assist in the conduct of their operations.
